1963 Porsche 356B T6 Coupe Original Black Plate, # Matching California Car .please be patient while the many photos load.
1963 Porsche 356B T6 Coupe for sale finished in 6202 Rubinrot (Ruby Red), believed to be a 2-owner car showing 52,600 miles. This classic Porsche includes what looks to be the original 1600cc engine, both original-issue black and gold California license plates, two sets of keys, and a tool kit.
Its current owner acquired the car in 2007 from its then-elderly owner we believe to have likely been its first owner whom he knew and stated that she rarely drove the car. He has tracked just 1,100 miles over the last 16 years.
The correct 616/1 T6 1600 starts and runs smoothly with plenty of power. It appears to be the original engine, serial number 609412 within the correct range of 608901 and 610000. It has excellent compression with 155 psi in cylinders 1,2 & 3 and 150 in #4.
The car has new brake shoes and cylinders and a new set of Koni shocks. It has been converted to 12 volts including a starter, generator, and battery. The inspection report recommends that the tires, axle boots, and mufflers be replaced. Otherwise, the shifting is tight and the car runs beautifully and is very nice to drive.
The car is finished in its original 6202 Rubinrot (Ruby Red). It was repainted many years ago and is has some checking, scratches, and flaws though it shined up nicely after a good detailing. The trim, side, and rear glass along with the rubber and wheels all appear to be original. The car is driver quality, a “good 10-footer”.
Inside looks mostly original though the rear panel looks to have been carpeted to cover the sun-damaged under the back window. The dash looks nice and the seating, door panels, and rubber mats are decent. The exterior lighting is in working order.
The steering wheel is in good condition and the horn is operable, the gauges are clear and the dash lights illuminate. The speedometer and odometer are in good working condition. The original clock and Blaupunkt radio are present though inoperable along with the fuel and temp gauges. The heater fan lever is missing.
