RB Collection is delighted to offer this exquisite, fully restored 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS hardtop. This desirable, genuine Super Sport was sold new in September of 1964 via Kenneth Chevrolet of Hawthorne, California and delivered with a host of desirable options led by the legendary 327/300 hp smallblock V8. It has been well cared for and in 2003, it was treated to a complete, nut-and-bolt restoration to very high standards, and has been maintained in excellent condition since.

The body is finished in Ermine White as it was originally delivered, and it presents today with excellent quality bodywork and panel fit. The body panels are straight and the feature lines crisp, showing high-quality paint work and detailing. Likewise, the extensive chrome and polished brightwork is excellent, including the original bumpers with factory optional bumper guards still in place, Chevrolet “bowtie” mirrors, and dual antennas. It rides on a set of correct steel wheels with factory original wheel covers and proper narrow-band whitewall tires.

Mechanically, this car is in excellent order. The original 327/300 horsepower smallblock was fully rebuilt in 2003 as part of the restoration. While this car left the factory equipped with a 2-speed Powerglide transmission, the owner chose to update it with a 3 speed unit for better cruising ability and all-around drivability. With that in mind, however, the original Powerglide has been kept in fine condition and will be included in the sale to ensure all of the original drivetrain stays together. This car is highly optioned with power steering, power brakes and even factory air conditioning. Underhood presentation is very nice, with largely correct fittings clamps and hardware, as well as decals and markings in the proper place. On the road, this Impala runs and drives beautifully feeling very well-sorted, and reflective of the level of care that went into its restoration.

The quality presentation continues inside, with beautiful two-tone white and red upholstery, finished in factory correct materials on the seats, door panels and carpets. The original owner was sure to check all of the boxes when it came to the interior options as well, as this car features original power windows, AM/FM radio (with dual antennas) air conditioning, wood steering wheel, adjustable steering column and tachometer. The electrics, gauges and features are all in excellent working order and very nicely finished.

After the outstanding restoration was completed, the car was shown at the prestigious Detroit Autorama among numerous other events. It is enormously enjoyable to drive, with plenty of power from the 327 and that classic, laid-back cruiser appeal. We also love the car’s crisp good looks, particularly in its original Ermine white. Enthusiastically maintained in beautiful condition from top to bottom, this is one of the nicest of its kind we’ve had the pleasure to offer.
