Up for sale is my 1965 Chevrolet K10 4×4 Shortbed — a genuine 60-year-old survivor truck that drives as good as it looks. This is the real deal: an honest, mostly unrestored first-gen C/K that fires right up, runs strong, and turns heads everywhere it goes.

These early shortbed K10 4x4s are among the most sought-after trucks in the classic market right now, and it’s easy to see why. There’s nothing quite like driving one.

The Drivetrain: The previous owner installed a crate 350 V8 paired with a single-pump Holley 600 carb. I added HEI (High Energy Ignition) which makes it incredibly easy to start and run in any weather. It’s quick — genuinely fast for a truck of this era — and pulls hard. Four-wheel drive engages and works perfectly.

Up front is a Dana 44 axle. Out back appears to be the original 12-bolt 4 rear differential. This is the axle combo collectors want — strong, proven, and correct for the truck.

What I’ve Done:

HEI installation
New leaf springs — ride is solid and controlled
New heater core
New gas tank (note: gas gauge does not currently work — see below)
Retro-style stereo head unit with new door speakers and a small under-seat subwoofer
The Body: The truck wears a primer black finish and has the honest patina of a truck that has actually lived its life. There is some minor rust on the driver’s side rear panel — please see all photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. Everything else is surprisingly solid for a 60-year-old working truck from this era. No hidden surprises — what you see in the pictures is what you get.

Known Issue: The gas gauge does not work. The stereo is intermittent. Probably a loose wire. 4 wheel drive is a little finicky but works.

Paperwork: I have documentation from my ownership as well as some of the original paperwork from the truck’s earlier life. It transfers with the sale.

The Bottom Line: This truck does not need a trailer. It drives. It’s fun. It gets attention. If you’ve been looking for an honest, unrestored K10 shortbed 4×4 that you can actually use and enjoy — not just look at — this is a rare opportunity. Trucks like this are getting harder to find every year, and the good ones only go up in value.

Sold as-is. No warranties expressed or implied. Serious buyers welcome — please ask all questions before bidding. Local pickup preferred; I can assist with shipping arrangements at buyer’s expense.
