The Chevrolet Corvette was first offered in 1953 and has gone through 8 different generations or body styles up through 2023. This car is a C-2 or second-generation Corvette, some call them (mid-year). In 1966 27,720 Corvettes were produced, of those 17,762 were convertibles and only 9958 were coupes. 1966 was

the first year for the famous 427 cubic inch Big Block to be offered as an option. Just over 5000 cars were built with the (L72) 427-425 engine and this was the only year it was offered. Original or near original mid-year corvettes are becoming harder to find with so many people building resto-mod cars.

Interior: The interior is in newly restored condition, carpet to headliner have been replaced with reproduction correct parts.

The car interior options include a telescoping teak wheel, AM-FM radio (that works), all the gauges work properly along with all the controls, a 6500 RPM redline tach is noted and correct. All window and door controls work properly along with headlight controls and motors. All the interior chrome is in VG condition.

Exterior:

The paint is in very good condition (Factory quality with some orange peel) with only a couple of touch up spots and a scratch.

The chrome is bright and all the insignias are present, correct and in VG condition. Car has factory knock off wheels with removal instruction paperwork in the glove box. Factory side pipes are also noted as an option with the correct 427 hood. Car has hard and soft tops both in VG condition.

Engine: The 427 engine has numbers matching block, correct intake with overspray just like was done by factory and correct exhaust manifolds. Air cleaner looks original with older decals showing age. There are three non-original components under the hood, the aftermarket fuel injection which has a small leak (fuel smell observed), a high amperage alternator (original in car), and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The engine bay overall looks good with only small amount of oil seepage observed.

Suspension and chassis: The frame off restoration was started from a sandblasted and painted chassis. All new suspension was installed front to rear; the car is as detailed on the bottom as it is on top. Spare tire cover present and correct reproduction. No sign of rust or rust repair on

all usual areas.

This car has had a complete frame off restoration with all original replacement parts used.

The addition of modern fuel injection was used in an attempt to make the car more driver friendly and helps on cold startup. The aluminum radiator was used to keep the engine cool in Oklahoma weather along with the dual fans and the High amperage alternator was needed to keep the car charged and operating as it should. All these can be replaced to original parts at any time.
