This auction is for a 1968 Pontiac GTO 2 Door Hard Top. It is a one owner car that has been in storage for many years. I believe it was taken off the road in the late 70s. The original owner had started taken the car apart but then unexpectedly passed away. I have all the original paperwork when purchased new, including dealer hand written purchase order, protecto plate, various Pontiac cards, new car warranty booklet and both owners manuals. The car was ordered and still retains its original 400 V-8, WT 360 HP and 3 Speed Manual Trans. Power Steering, Hub Caps, Am Radio, etc. Alpine Blue Exterior with Black Interior. It was ordered with a floor console but was missing when we purchased the car. As you can see from the pics, the car is rough. Rusty floor pans, quarters, trunk pan and up by the back window. The frame has several small rust holes up front and about a 2 foot section missing on the drivers side rear rail. The rockers are rock solid, doors are in good shape, front fenders could be repaired, hood is solid and straight. Nose cone and grills are good also. Figure the motor for a rebuild. We put in a battery and got the motor to turn slightly then it stopped. I would imagine there is some rust in the middle cylinder due to moisture over the years. We pulled the plugs and they look clean but your guess is as good as mine. I do know that the clutch disc is stuck on the flywheel but if you put the car in neutral it will roll fine. Obviously no brakes from sitting so long. Has a decent interior and a perfect dash. Would be a labor of love if you wanted to restore it or an excellent donor car if you have a Lemans or Tempest that you want to make into a GTO. We have the last Maine registration and all proper paperwork should you need a title in your state. If you need anymore info or pics feel free to email or call us at 1(207)432-2862. We reserve the right to end the auction early as we have had some local interest. If you need time for a shipper we will store the car here as long as it is paid for in advance. We require
